An AI that learns about you: facts, questions and a nightly review
A small, readable memory: what to store, what never to store, and how it asks the right questions.
Memory is the difference between an assistant and a stranger you re-explain yourself to every day. The trick is to keep it small, readable and yours.
Three parts, not one
A profile: one short sentence per lasting fact (a preference, a routine, how you like things done). A question list: things the assistant wants to know, asked once when it fits, never in the middle of urgent work. A nightly review: once a day, a cheap pass over the day's conversation that adds new facts and at most two new questions.
What not to store
Tasks and one-off requests are not facts. Neither is today's mood. Keep health details and other people's private matters out of it. And keep secrets (passwords, card numbers) out of the profile completely: the profile gets sent to the model with every message, so it should contain nothing you would not want there.
