One message every morning: the brief prompt I give my AI
Instead of five notifications, one short message with what matters today. How it is built and the prompt.
Most assistants tell you things all day. I wanted the opposite: one message, once, in the morning, that I can read in thirty seconds.
What goes in it
A good brief answers five questions and nothing else: what needs a decision today, what is on my calendar, which mail needs an answer, what is due (reminders, bills, birthdays), and what I should make or publish today. Add three lines of world news if you care about them.
The rule that makes it work
Leave out any part that is empty. A brief that says "nothing to report" five times is just noise. If a source fails, skip it quietly. And never reuse numbers from yesterday's brief: if the assistant did not read it today, it does not say it.
